1 RULES 1.1 The series will be governed by the ‘rules’ as defined in the 2005-2008 ISAF (RRS), The Racing Rules of Sailing. 1.2 Racing will be governed by the prescriptions of the Irish Sailing Association (ISA), the RYA Portsmouth Yardstick Scheme 2008 and or the ISAF Small Catamaran Rating System, this Notice of Race, and any amendments thereto and the respective Class Rules. Class rules apply even when not racing as a class. 1.3 In the event of a conflict,between this Notice of Race and the Sailing Instructions, the Sailing Instructions shall take precedence
2 ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY 2.1 The series is open to all MonoHull boats with a PY of less then 1400. 2.2 The series is open to all MultiHull boats. 2.3 The series is open to all RS 200 & RS 400 Dinghies 2.4 There will be three fleets MonoHulls, MultiHulls and RS 200/400 with separate results for each fleet. 2.5 The Multihulls will be racing under the ISAF Small Catamaran Rating System. 2.6 The MonoHulls will be racing under the RYA Portsmouth Yardstick Scheme. 2.7 RS 200 RS 400 will race as single Classes. Entrants must be members of the RS Association.
3 FEES Required fees are as follows: €30 per crewmember. €16 Juniors per crewmember. Payment on or before Tuesday 19th August. €20 per crewmember. €10 juniors per crewmember.
4 REGISTRATION & SCHEDULE OF RACES 4.1 Registration and declaration will take place from 0930 hours on Saturday 23rd August. 4.2 The numbers of races scheduled is 6 for each fleet, with maximum of four races on any day. 4.3 Racing is scheduled as follows: First race 1100 hours on Saturday and 1030 on Sunday other races to follow. 4.4 No race will be started after 1630 hours on Saturday and 1500 hours on Sunday
5 SAILING INSTRUCTIONS Will be available at registration.
6 COURSES The courses to be sailed will be shown on the Course Illustration and shall be available at registration.
7 SCORING 7.1 The Low Point scoring system of Appendix A will apply, but with 0.75 points for 1st Place. 7.2 3 races are required to be completed to constitute a series. 7.3 One discard if four or more races sailed.
8 PRIZES Prizes will be given as follows: For each of the Monohull and Multihull fleets 1st 2nd and 3rd. Prizes will also be given for the first boat in any class that has four or more entries as scored within their fleet. For the RS 200 & RS 400 fleets Prizes will be awarded to the overall winner of the event and to 1st, 2nd & 3rd place in each class. In addition, prizes shall be awarded for 1st junior helm in the RS200 class and 1st lady helm in the RS200 class.
9 DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See rule 4, Decision to Race. The RS Class Association or GBSC will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.
